Basically how it works is we have a team of 20+ Redken Stylists from all across Canada come together to be a part of it. We have a lead stylist, Jorge Joao, who has spent the weeks before meeting with designers and creating looks for the hair to compilment the designers vision.
The day before the week starts, we all meet at the Redken Exchange in Toronto to go through all the proposed looks as a group and practice the trickier styles to make sure we all get them the same. It's really important that the are all the same on the runway.
On the day of the shows, the shows are on the hour. And some models are used in more that one show, some are in shows straight after each other. So we get the hair done, Mabelline get the makeup and Essie, get the nails done. Sometimes we have 30mins, sometimes we have 8mins! We always work with a partner for speed, when we are down to an 8 minute turnaround we have up to 5 people working on the model to get her out in time! It's similar to formula 1 racing, when the cars come in for a pit stop. We all get to work as fast as possible, then step back. It's quite the rush. I'll try post some pictures up from soon. Otherwise I've got a bunch on my facebook hair page. KATIE WEBSTER HAIR check them out to see the c
